About me

About meI have been working with elite athletes and teams for more than 15 years. For 12 years I was involved in professional tennis, which gave me a deep understanding of the passion, commitment and demands inherent in competitive sport.

I mentor Olympians, professional teams and individuals facing high levels of demand. I am passionate about accompanying those who struggle to overcome their fears and face life’s challenges. And above all, I love getting to know the person behind each project and aligning their personal values with their professional dreams.

If you want to know my story in depth, read on...

I started in the world of sports when I was six years old, in the afternoons when my father would take my brothers and me to play tennis at the tennis courts in our town. That’s how I took my first racquets and how my passion for sports and active life awoke in me.

During my childhood and adolescence I had the opportunity to dedicate myself fully to what I was passionate about, I gave myself body and soul to training and competition, to travel, to know and explore everything that tennis offered me.

When I was 15 years old I joined the technical group of the Madrid Tennis Federation. We attended classes with a schedule adapted to athletes. I loved being surrounded by classmates who were dedicated to artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, field hockey, swimming, canoeing …. I was immensely happy at that time, while going through phases of great stress.

I achieved good results at the international level fairly quickly, since at the age of 18 I reached a 300 WTA ranking; however, even though things were going relatively well at the sporting level, I felt internal difficulties and a void that did not allow me to achieve full satisfaction.

I never sought the help of a psychologist, even when my mother insisted, there was something holding me back, something that to this day I identify as a terrible fear of looking inward. I had access to a sports psychologist provided by the Madrid Tennis Federation, however I was not ready to take that step, and I did not give myself fully to the process.

Some time later and for various reasons, including traveling alone to tournaments for two years, my internal difficulties intensified, I stopped enjoying what I had been passionate about since I was a child and, after several personal and sporting crises, and a fundamental lack of specialized guidance, I decided to retire from professional competition at the age of 21 to devote myself to study.

Although I continued to play with a team in Spain and another in France for 7 more years, I decided to step away from professional tennis for a while. I wanted to address the internal difficulties I had been avoiding, so I opted to fully immerse myself in my personal growth and college education.

Now I was determined to face the fears that had been with me since I was a child.

So it was that at the age of 23, encouraged by a close friend, I immersed myself in a deep work of introspection, the Hoffman Process, where I explored my deepest emotions, my relationship with my parents, siblings, and myself. This was the beginning of a journey of personal growth filled with moments of great discovery, pain, deep joys and above all, unconditional self-knowledge and acceptance. And indeed, a journey that continues to this day.

As a result of this process, I began to delve deeper into personal growth, spirituality and psychology. During my studies, I had the opportunity to befriend a well-known professor, Juan Miguel Fernandez-Balboa. For nine years we met weekly, spending afternoons and evenings talking about life, psychology, spirituality…. He would recommend readings, videos, and I would tirelessly ask him questions, curiosities, dilemmas….

Thanks to her accompaniment and the internal work done at that time, I reached a place of self-understanding and transcendental acceptance of myself. Over time and in a very natural way, the two paths that had formed me as a person came together: sport and personal growth. I got involved in research projects focused on sport psychology, I read, I trained, I took courses inside and outside the university, I got to know alternative therapies, I tried them… I felt an immense curiosity to deepen in human knowledge.

Finally I did a PhD in Emotional Intelligence with competitive athletes, it was a research in which we evaluated the thinking and emotion of more than 1000 athletes from various disciplines and levels, including Olympic athletes.

All these experiences led me to the certainty of dedicating myself to personal growth through Psychology. Life made a lot of sense with the possibility of accompanying others in a process that had been transcendental in my life, a process that had led me from the rejection of parts of myself, to self-knowledge and unconditional love.

Today I am dedicated to accompany people who find themselves in contexts of pressure and stress, always from an approach based on Positive Psychology, a branch of psychology focused on exploring human potential through the development of individual/group strengths and awareness of limitations.

I work at a sport and personal level, since life has taught me that sport is one more scenario in which our personality is shown in a transparent way.

I have worked mainly in high-level contexts and complex personal situations. Extending my work to people who are in pressure situations, with teams under their responsibility, and other demanding situations to which they are continuously exposed, such as oppositions and artists.
